The Grampian Model Railroaders are a Stawell based model train club that was formed in 1996, we have about 50 members. People from anywhere are welcome to apply to join the club.
We meet every Thursday night at 7.30pm in our newly renovated Stawell Goods Shed 15 Wakeham St, Stawell with the first Thursday of each month being a BBQ night starting at about 6pm - BYO food - soft drinks can be purchased at the club.
Visitors are more than welcome to come along and see what we do, bring your own locos and rolling stock and run them on the club layouts.
The Grampian Model Railroaders have held a model train exhibition each year in Stawell in the month of July since 1999, this exhibition covering more than 1000 square meters it is well worth a look with more that 20 layout from the very small to the very large. You can also buy most things you will need for your very own layout at the exhibition.
In 2018 The Grampian Model Railroaders also started a smaller model train show in Ararat. The Ararat Model Train Show is mostly made up of our member's layouts and as we have so many we are able to change them around each year. This is a good show to come to and talk with our members and see what they are building at home.
The Grampian Model Railroaders exhibit layouts at exhibitions across Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales.
Victoria's Smallest Model Railway Show has been postponed to a new date yet to be set but will be late August or early September at this time.
With current restrictions in Victoria we had decided that we can't run the show as we don't have a clear indication on if restrictions would be lifted in time.
Everyone that attends must Sanitise their hands before sign in and write their name and contact phone number in the diary, as well as adhere to any other rules that may apply at that date.
